Service Description
The L3 First Aid at Work qualification is ideal for those already working, or preparing to work within industry wishing to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. Topics covered include: the roles and responsibilities of the First Aider; assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness, chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis. Learners will develop the first aid skills and confidence to help someone who: is unresponsive and breathing is unresponsive and not breathing, including how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED) is choking is bleeding is suffering from shock has burns feels faint has been poisoned has a head injury has hypothermia or heat exhaustion has an injury to a bone, muscle or joint (including spinal injuries). Learners will also be able to help a casualty who is having a: seizure heart attack, including the administration of aspirin angina attack stroke asthma attack severe allergic reaction diabetic emergency. The course also includes information on: assessing a casualty monitoring a casualty where to get help electrical incidents accident recording and reporting the control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH). Cost: £180 inclusive of VAT Level 3 First Aid at Work course includes: 3 days training (one is by distance e learning and two days are face to face training), Registration, Certification & lunch Accredited by Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance Course Venue: RDS Training Centre : Old, Dock Office , High St, Hull HU1 1HA This is a two unit qualification is assessed by the tutor. The practical assessments will be conducted throughout the course. There are no examinations to achieve this qualification.
